The Canmore corridor or Bow Valley corridor is a relatively small area surrounding Canmore. This area serves as the entry artery to the Canadian Rockies via Highway 1 and the lesser known Highway 1A. Although this area may not be the peak of the natural beauty in the Rockies, the towering cliffs erupting from the prairies make it a sight to behold. This may be the most accessible area in the Rockies in terms of driving time from the nearby city of Calgary, as well as average trip difficulty and distance, which makes most trips in the area very popular. For many, this is where they are first introduced to the Rockies and begin to love its lesser beauty, before progressing to more fabulous destinations.
Any trip beginning from Highway 1 or Highway 1A between Kananaskis Country and Banff National Park will be listed below.
